A&P Mechanic General Aviation Level 1

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of General Aviation type aircraft including but not limited to Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, Mooney, and Cirrus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Troubleshoot & perform routine, scheduled & unscheduled maintenance operations on aircraft and aircraft systems.
• Read and utilize blueprints, maintenance manuals, ATA codes, illustrated parts catalogs, airworthiness directives, service bulletins and other maintenance documents and publications.
• Perform annual, progressive, 50-hour, 100-hour scheduled inspections.
• Complete all tasks in the allotted time frame and to the quality standards of our company, our customers, and the FAA.
• Promote safety within the workplace by monitoring others and yourself to guarantee all tasks are performed within the safety manual guidelines and communicate with other mechanics and supervisors to coordinate repairs and keep apprised of safety concerns.
• Order materials and parts for repairs and general maintenance.
• Keep detailed records of the inspections performed, repairs finished, maintenance procedures and ordered parts.
• Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
• Must have tools that meet our minimum tool list.
• Ability to work flexible hours if required.
• Will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma/GED
• Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
• Beginning - Intermediate experience with General Aviation Aircraft. (Preferred)
• Must be able to communicate (oral, read, write) in English.
• Beginning - Intermediate level of skill is required to perform the majority of assigned standard tasks within the systems and technical area you will be assigned to.
• Experience with Technical Manual Database Software ATP. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of Principles and Process for providing Quality Customer Service. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance procedures. (Preferred)
• Proficiency with comprehension and interpretation of original equipment manufacturer’s technical data and FAA approved work package instructions. (Preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Talk and/or hear routinely throughout the day
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and/or balancing all day.
• Use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work in Hot/Cold – Indoor/Outdoor environments.
