Phoenix Air is not just an air charter company; it’s a company with over 30 years of tradition of finding solutions to client needs. These solutions include, but are not limited to: - Air charter - Air ambulance - High-priority air cargo - Airframe modifications - Specialized military training - Flight school - Fixed Base Operator (FBO) Phoenix Air was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in the late 1970s by Atlanta native Mark Thompson. Starting as a small local charter company operating two vintage Beech 18s primarily transporting automotive parts to assembly plants around the country, Phoenix Air today has grown to a multi-faceted air charter company with global capabilities. The company name “Phoenix Air” was derived from the mythological bird of ancient Greek lore “the Phoenix,” which is part of the official Great Seal of the City of Atlanta. Phoenix Air moved its administrative headquarters and heavy maintenance facilities from the Atlanta area to Cartersville, Georgia (40 miles north of Atlanta) in 1985, where today it leases 85% of the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport (KVPC). It is here that Phoenix Air has its high-security facilities, maintenance, dispatch operations, and headquarters staff.
