- Identify the most efficient way(s) to utilize people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a Polypropylene Strapping.
- Design plans to increase productivity and follow-through with implementation.
- Study product requirements and design manufacturing processes and information systems to meet requirements and support design for future customer needs.
- Update manufacturing process control sheets.
- Problem Solving and Quality Improvement
- Perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing process capacities.
- Design methods to ensure product quality.
- Investigate and cost savings initiatives and specify extruded plastics and plastic related processes to meet product, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
- Improve ways to distribute goods and services for production flow.
- Provide technical support to help correct production problems.
- Assist with estimating production annual capacity planning.
- Evaluate effects of product design changes.
- Provide input of process concerns in support of maintenance projects.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
LEADERSHIP:
- Engage and partner with Operations and Maintenance Teams for proper run processes.
- Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and polices.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Document and keep current basic work instructions, policies, procedures, or other directional material.
POSITIONS SUPERVISED:
- Direct Line to Shift Lead and Line Technicians
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing, math, electronics, computers, and ergonomics.
- Knowledge of plastic extrusion (PPY/PET) resin background. Sheet extrusion highly desirable.
- Ability to interact with vendors.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree or equivalent of 2-4 years of work experience in related fields
- 2-3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Result –oriented and articulate in managing diverse teams in the production of quality products
- Interpersonal skills, analytical, problem solving, and statistical analysis.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Suite of applications.
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Leadership skills – Ability to direct, organize, and motivate a team.
- Must be proactive, detailed oriented and focused on Quality.
- Drive accountability by ensuring each person knows and understands what is expected of them.
- Ability to work in an ever-changing work environment.
- Strong project management skills.
- Have a good understanding of material flow and operations sequence.
- Willing to learn and grow within the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties must be able to stand and sit for an extended length of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Although limited must be able to climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights up to 50’.
- You must be able to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, squatting, and while laying on your stomach or back.
- There will be some contact with liquid paint, solvents, grease, and oils.
- Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes are required.
