Basic Function:
Oversee machinery installation, repairs and troubleshooting and electrical wiring of machinery. Reduce cycle time and usability improvement through PLC programming.
Essential Duties
- Balance Safety, Quality, Production, Cost and Morale to achieve positive results across departments.
- Continuously learn, share and implement corrections or changes to encourage organizational improvements.
- Use the 5S Pillars, Sort (Seiri), Set in Order (Seiton), Shine (Seiso), Standardize (Seiketsu), and Sustain (Shitsuke) to maintain a clean and organized workspace to sustain a productive work environment.
- Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
- Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment and/or PLC software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
- Troubleshoot production equipment
- Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Manage data back-up cyclically and monitor regarding each individual process.
- Analyzing repetitive trouble for recurrence prevention.
- Load factor and insulated testing regarding individual electrical motor equipment.
- Inspect electrical equipment's (electrical panel and generator)
- Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly.
- Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions.
- Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, use hands to manipulate, handle and feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must be able to speak and hear and must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to auto focus
Education and Work Experience: Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:
- High school diploma/GED with three (5) or more years of experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Read electrical drawings
- Electrical system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Must be an effective learner
- Must be able to work alone and in teams
- Must be highly safety-oriented
- Ability to learn and identify tools and their proper uses.
Recommend knowledge and skills:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) – (Mitsubishi preferred)
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic and controls
- Installation work (wire pulling, conduit, termination of wires, etc.)
- Robotics background preferred
