General Description: Cartersville City Schools is creating a Student Support Specialist position to oversee and implement Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) protocols to maximize student achievement and reduce behavioral interference. Minimum Qualifications: Possess or be eligible for valid Georgia teaching certification; minimum 3 years successful classroom teaching experience; experience and or training in MTSS, 504, PBIS a plus; strong interpersonal communication skills with students, staff, and parents. Key Roles and Responsibilities include facilitating MTSS implementation, maintaining intervention databases, supporting teachers with research-based interventions, analyzing student data, providing training, supporting PBIS, coordinating remedial program supports, ensuring hospital home bound and 504 plans as needed, training on forms and documentation, participating in conferences, assisting with assessments, coordinating with IEP and ESOL teams, supporting high-leverage instructional practices for Tier 2 and 3 students, and participating in curriculum and instruction meetings.
